MLB Reveals Photo Of Baseball Field At Bristol Motor Speedway For Braves Vs. Reds

One week out from the Speedway Classic between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds, MLB has unveiled the first look at the baseball field that will be used.

The baseball field was constructed inside the NASCAR track at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee.

Friday's stadium reveal comes three days after MLB unveiled the uniforms the Braves and Reds will wear.

MLB originally announced the Speedway Classic in August 2024, marking the first time a regular-season game is being played in the state of Tennessee.

It's part of a recent trend for the league to host games in non-traditional venues, including the Field of Dreams game in 2021 and the tribute to the Negro Leagues at Rickwood Field last year.

Bristol Motor Speedway has hosted different sporting events over the years. The first football game played at the stadium was between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington in 1961.

Tennessee and Virginia Tech played at Bristol in September 2016. The "Battle at Bristol" holds the all-time attendance record for a college football game at 156,990.

Per MLB's official announcement, the dimensions of the field at Bristol are 330 feet down the lines, 375 feet to the right-field alley, 384 feet to the left-field alley and 400 feet to straightaway center.

MLB could set a new all-time attendance record for the Braves-Reds game. The current record is 115,300, set in 2018 for an exhibition game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Speedway Classic will be played on Aug. 2 with Fox broadcasting the game. The Reds will serve as the designated home team.
